Can I pick out my own slab?
Yes — and we recommend it. Our slabs stand outside in natural daylight, the most honest way to judge color and movement. The exact slab you tag is the slab that becomes your countertop.

Is marble a good choice for a kitchen countertop?
It depends on how you feel about patina. Marble is softer and more porous than granite or quartzite, so it etches where acid lands and it wears with use. Many owners want exactly that, and honed finishes hide it better than polished. Reseal yearly and keep acids off the surface. We’ll tell you honestly whether marble suits the way you cook. Where can I buy Taj Mahal quartzite in Connecticut?
At our yard at 97 Airport Road in Hartford. Taj Mahal is one of the quartzites we import directly and stock in full slabs, generally in both 2cm and 3cm polished. Quartzite selection changes as containers land, so our quartzite page shows what is on the racks now, and a call to (860) 296-5263 will confirm a thickness before you drive out.
What stone types and brands do you carry?
Natural stone: granite, marble, quartzite, and soapstone, imported directly. Engineered surfaces: quartz lines including Cambria, Silestone, and Caesarstone, and porcelain/sintered lines including Neolith, Dekton, Laminam, and Sapienstone.
Do you fabricate and install the countertops yourselves?
Yes. Templating, cutting, edging, and polishing happen in our own Hartford shop, and our own installers set, seam, and seal the finished piece. We seal every natural stone before installation.
What areas do you serve?
All of Connecticut. Around Hartford, our busiest towns include West Hartford, Avon, Glastonbury, Rocky Hill, Wethersfield, Farmington, Newington, Berlin, Southington, Cheshire, Suffield, and Stafford Springs; along the shoreline, Madison, Old Saybrook, Westbrook, Old Lyme, and Stonington. We also serve Waterbury, New Haven, and nearby Massachusetts (including Springfield) and Rhode Island.

How do I care for stone countertops?
Day to day: mild soap, warm water, and a soft cloth. Granite should be resealed every one to two years, marble annually; quartz, soapstone, and porcelain never need sealing. Avoid harsh or abrasive cleaners on any stone — each stone page on this site has care notes for that material.
How long has Pistritto Marble been in business?
