Marble.

Marble is a timeless natural stone known for its elegance, character, and old-world charm. Formed through natural metamorphism, marble features veining and movement that cannot be replicated by engineered materials. Its soft glow and natural variation make it a favorite for homeowners who appreciate authenticity, classic design, and a lived-in look.

Marble stays naturally cool and brightens any room with its refined appearance. It is ideal for clients who think beyond trends and want a surface with history, personality, and a truly natural look.

Because marble is softer and more porous than granite or quartzite, it will etch and patina with everyday use over time. Once sealed properly, the potential for staining is minimized. With the right expectations and maintenance, marble can be a beautiful, long-lasting choice. We guide each customer honestly, helping you understand and embrace the patina that will occur and how to care for it.

Colors & uses

Carrara, Calacatta, Danby — and beyond.

The classics are here — Carrara, Calacatta, Statuario, Crema Marfil, and Vermont Danby, in polished or honed finishes — alongside blacks like Nero Marquina and Nero Portoro, grays like Pietra Gray and Bardiglio, and specialty stones from Rainforest Green to Emperador. Honed white Carrara remains the most-requested marble in our shop.

Marble shines in kitchens and baking stations, vanity tops, full-height shower walls, and fireplace surrounds — anywhere its veining can carry the room. For hard-working family kitchens, ask us about quartzite, which delivers the marble look with far more toughness.

Marble questions

Asked and answered.

Is marble a good choice for a kitchen countertop?

It can be, with the right expectations. Marble is softer and more porous than granite or quartzite, so it will etch and develop a patina with daily use. Proper sealing minimizes staining, and we walk every customer through the care honestly before anything is cut.

What marble do you carry?

The classics: Carrara, Calacatta, Statuario, Crema Marfil, and Vermont Danby, alongside blacks like Nero Marquina, grays like Bardiglio, and specialty stones. Honed white Carrara is the most requested marble in our shop.

Where does marble work best?

Vanity tops, full-height shower walls, fireplace surrounds, and kitchens for owners who love the lived-in look. It stays naturally cool, which is why bakers ask for it.

Can I see full marble slabs before deciding?

Yes. Slabs stand at our Hartford yard in open daylight, so you judge the veining across the whole piece instead of a sample chip. See installed marble →
