Countertops in West Hartford.

West Hartford kitchens are rarely built to a catalog. A lot of the housing around the Center, Elmwood, and Bishops Corner went up between the 1920s and the 1950s, which means original walls that are not quite square and cabinet runs that have to be measured rather than assumed. We template in the home, on your cabinets, after they are set.

We import the slabs ourselves, cut and polish them in our shop on Airport Road, and send our own installers to set them. Nothing is handed off to a third party, so the people who measure your kitchen are the same people accountable for the stone that goes in it.

Installers

The same company, template to install.

Plenty of places will sell you a countertop. Fewer will be the ones who cut it and the ones who carry it through your door.

Templated in person
We measure on the installed cabinets, not off a drawing. Seams, overhangs, and cutouts get decided before anything is cut.
Cut in our own shop
Cutting, edging, and polishing happen on Airport Road, not at an out-of-state plant we have never seen.
Set by our own crew
Our installers set, seam, and seal the finished piece. Every natural stone is sealed before installation.
One number afterward
If something needs attention later, you are calling the people who made it, not a dispatcher.

The stone

Granite, quartz, quartzite, and the rest of the yard.

Granite is still the workhorse for a West Hartford kitchen, but it is one of six surfaces standing in the racks.

Granite is natural, heat-tolerant, and comes in a range no engineered surface reproduces. Quartz is engineered and never needs sealing, so the slab you approve is exactly what gets installed. Quartzite gives you marble’s look with more hardness than granite. Marble remains the choice for baths and fireplace surrounds. Soapstone asks nothing of you at all, and porcelain goes large-format, indoors or out.

Fifteen minutes away

Choose the actual slab, not a chip.

A two-inch sample cannot tell you where the veining lands on your island. A full slab can.

Our yard at 97 Airport Road is a short drive from West Hartford Center. Full slabs stand outside in natural daylight, which is the most honest way to judge color and movement, and the slab you tag is the slab that becomes your countertop. Weekdays 8:30 to 4:30, Saturday 9 to 1. Get directions →
